Process/Mel to send form

We are wondering if anyone knows of a code to send a document to a user. For example, our physicians complete a surgery request form and right now are using the MEL Send Flag functionality to alert the surgery schedulers that a surgery request has been completed. We would prefer to program a button to actually send the form, much like the "Hold & Route" functionality of Dragon.
