Do any providers in your organization have the privilege to 'setup' where they have access to all settings in the EMR?
NoNoNoNoNoNoNo.
Only our Medical Informatics group can do setup tasks.
We have a provider who is doing 20 hours clinical and 20 hours as Medical Director and heads up the EMR forms committee. She has asked for privleges to change/fix custom med list and problem lists as well as play with protocols. If she has privileges to do that then she can change MULTIPLE things! Do you agree?
You can give securities for JUST those items (Custom lists and protocols) and not to other areas. The one thing you do not want to give are securities for any individual other than the ONE or two people that are responsible for securities is the security to change security settings. That will allow WAY TOO much abitlity to change things that shouldn't be.
I don't see how I can give them access to just those 2 areas. They seem to be under the general 'Change Chart Settings' privilege which includes a lot of things. Am I missing something?
