The XML error was:
Invalid XML document. Root cause: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The entity "rsaquo" was referenced, but not declared.
The orange RSS icons on the forum gives the following message:
This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.
Followed by an xml file. How does one set up to receive RSS notifications of new posts on the Forum?

The are multiple levels of RSS Feeds:
- ALL RSS Feeds (link is located at the bottom of the main forum view)
- Group RSS Feeds (link is located at the top of each forum group of the main forum view)
- Forum RSS Feeds (link is located at the bottom of a forum view)
- Topic RSS Feeds (link is located at the bottom of a topic view)
- Find the desired RSS Feed link button.
- Right click on the button image.
- Select 'Copy Link Address' from the menu that pops up.
- Paste the link address into your favorite reader/outlook.
No joy.
Using Google Reader (Chrome on a Mac) when I Control-click the RSS icon and copy the link address, then paste it into the field in Google Reader, I get a message that my search did not match any feeds.
Here is the link address:

I have been using it in FireFox 11 with NewsFox Reader and works like a champ. Haven't tried it in Chrome yet.
Firefox 11 on my Mac fails. If someone has been successful subscribing with a Mac, please post.
I use Google Reader as my aggregator and that doesn't work. If a different aggregator on the Mac works, it might let me reverse engineer how to make it work with GR. There's no way, though, that I'm switching readers for one feed. Tails wagging dogs, and all that.
I would think it important to make this work cross platform and with all common readers?

We are working on the issue. Thanks again, for the additional feedback.
I suspect that once we change the root domain back to centricityusers.com, things will improve.
No problem.
I tried NetNewsWire on my Mac – it was what I used before I made the change to Goggle Reader. NNW tells me it cannot subscribe because it cannot find the feed, basically the same issue that GR has.
Wish I could help with more/better info.

I was getting a similar result. As mentioned, I suspect it may be the manner the DNS is currently registered (we wanted to keep it 'out of the wild' as much as possible during the transition). I suspect that once we change over, it will provide the needed 'fix'.
We are checking into the reason for these failures and will report back ASAP.
We have determined that the issue with the RSS feed is related to the security we have built for the forums and the site. We will be working on a solution because this feature seems to have excited a bunch of you.
For the time being, the links will remain on the forum pages.
I believe they will work in an environment that has a reader allowing logon prior to connecting to the RSS feed site.
If anyone can test this and report back, it would be greatly appreciated.

Google Reader does not support authenticated (secure) feeds. Full. Stop.

Moving from a mailing list, where access was possible as long as one could access email, to a forum where access is limited to certain platforms and clients, will definitely be a barrier to participation. If we are to have a robust support community, it MUST be easy to access the Forum and have the Forum push information out to the community.
I tried FreeMyFeed, a service where one enters the feed URL and the username and password and uses their service to 'bypass' the authentication. It accepted my url and username and password and then told me it received invalid XML.

I agree with eliasp. We must figure out the issue here and get this to a point where the client environment does not matter. We are reviewing our options.
In the interim, subscribing to Group and Topics will come close. Keep in mind, anything you post to results in an automatic Subscription so you will get notified of any posts.
I can't even get group feeds to work anymore. They work fine in IE until I click on the link to subscribe to a feed, after which I always get the message "Internet Explorer does not support feeds with DTDs." In Outlook, it displays the raw XML.
I am getting feeds in Outlook, but I am getting them multiple times. I have seen the same posts at least three times today. I clear them and awhile later they come back again. Any idea what may be causing that, or how I can fix it?
