We have been on SMPP portal for years and have never been charged for an upgrade. Now that we have upgraded our databases to 12.3.3 we are being told we have to pay for our upgrade from our hosting Quatris. Has anyone else ever experienced this?
Unfortunately since SMPP 7.X SMPP has been customer upgrade-able which means if your being told by your Hosting company Quatris that there is a "charge" is probably because they are being charged by Surescripts for this upgrade. I can tell you as someone who used to work for Surescripts (aka Kryptiq) I have done hundreds of these over the years and the new 8.X installer is very simple to use - Click Run and it does a "shadow" update with the patches and if it fails it "rolls" everything back to the way it was. Then you can simply call Surescripts Support and they will do the upgrade.
The question is do you have someone at your office that:
1. Has access to the servers at Quatris?
2. Is handy enough to do this?
If not please let me know and I can help you out.
