I am trying to figure out how productive our medical records department has been when scanning and indexing outside documents. I have several issues:
Are there any target for scanning per hour for either total pages or patients files?
Are there any targets for indexing files?
What department does the medical records department report to?
We are using Kryptiq's Docutrak with CPS 10.1.2
Thanks,
Richard

We use another product called Magician however I can tell you that we have some super indexers that can index anywhere from 400 to 700 documents a day. There are variations in workflow as some receive the images to index only and do not scan, while others scan and index and some scan/index/flow values to the flowsheet. Sorting is done prior to the indexers getting the documents.
Thanks- we are not at that speed which is one of our concerns. Do you have multiple offices? Centralized scanning?
Richard
We have mostly centralized scanning and a few remote scan/index workstations. Our Document Imaging group is separate from Medical Records. Of note, we tried to automate (OCR) but that didn't work because of our volume and large number of specialty practices.
We recently went through these calculations and decided that 70 docs/hr was a good average. We have on user than can hit 100 but she is a bit of a fast burner. I didn't want to hold staff accountable to that level 🙂
