Has anyone come up with a workflow for sending internal referrals within CPS? We have a lot of Primary care physicians who refer internally to our specialists.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

We send as a test order. This flags the scheduler at the front desk and then they route the flag to the appropriate scheduler for the internal specialist. Our outside referrals are referral orders and our internal referrals are test orders. Hope that helps!

I am a Sales Engineer with Visualutions, we have a product called Referral Tracking Tool, it will allow you to do internal and external referrals as well as manage them. Our tracking tool meets the CMS 50 closing the gap measure as well as PCMH 5B Critical Factor 8 as our tool will track referrals until the consultant/specialist report is available, flagging and following up on overdue reports.
Our tool comes with a full suite of reports available through our SSRS deployment. Our product is completely integrated with an immediate update to the originating referral order and is available on the provider desktop.
