I would know for those of you that are using the Surescripts Portal with Centricity - How are you validating patients identity over the phone? or Do you have the patients wait until they are there for a visit?

I would like to know as well
We have them come into the office. We provide them a (printed out) temp password. So then they lose it on the way home. 🙂
They call the portal help number or the office they visited. We regenerate a temp password and will send it ONLY to the email in their account.
If they want to change their email address, they have to come in.
GE portal is SO email address centric.
We moved from another portal (Orion) to GE recently. We sent out notices to the Orion patietns informating them of the chane and letting them know they could go online to register for the new GE portal.
From there, they made a request and this was sent to the office where they would validate the email address (had to be the one on file) and send them a temp password to the GE portal.
JillSnider - just wondering why you moved from the Orion portal to Centricity Patient Portal?
