Does CPS have the ability for the Provider to see face up the remaining refills that a patient has? When I expand the medication within the medication list it only shows the original refills prescribed. I'm surprised that the medication list does not decrement the refills when the patient picks up a refill. If CPS, doesn't offer this can a quick text be leveraged?
I'm on the IT side of the house so not completely up on the ins and outs of workflows, so this comment may be uninformed.
I'm picturing a rx ordered with 5 refills. How would CPS know when a refill was issued? Does the pharmacy obtain authorization for each refill that has already been ordered on the original rx?

You can get this information from SureScripts. They have access to claims and pharmacy database. However, you will need to manually upload/download patient files for the same and then perform a few Excel manipulations.
Another possibility for you is to use SimplifiMed Chatbot. Based on certain rules, the bot can automatically check with the patients on remaining refills and alert the provider organization when the number of refills go below a limit.
