Our hosted EMR needs to change as our current hosts are shutting down this service. Does anyone have information/first hand knowledge about True North IT? I have been told they are in the PacNW and host several clinics. I would be interested in finding out about their level of service and the like. When we first started working with Centricity we were having some pretty significant issues with our infrastructure so we contracted with them to host our environment during our training. Due to us using AD security we had a few issues as the training moved from group to group - but these would not occur in a live environment, and AD would be a pain in a hosted environment 🙂
They also tried to help us with our infrastructure issues but they could only do so much from so far away - five years of complete neglect required a rebuild.

I am in the PNW and have some knowledge of True North. Actually have a friend that works there. Having said that I have had excellent experience with a firm called IT Source. They offer cradle to grave hosting of GE and general IT infrastructure as well.
We are current customers of TrueNorth, with 4 clinics and 2 admin sites all in different locations. They host 90% of our servers and 100% of our Citrix and Centricity environment as well as our redundant ShoreTel virtual phone servers and two of our DC's. And with 70% of our staff running only thin clients, I'm happy to say that we haven't had any significant amount of downtime in over a year and a half. Their support staff is very responsive and knowledgeable. We are also located in the PNW but they are able to assist us with our needs remotely with the tools they have available to them. We too had hardware neglect that spanned 10 years, one being our Exchange 2003 server. But TrueNorth was able to help assist us from purchasing the required upgrades to explaining how to set it up so they could remote into it, to assisting with setup and configuration. So even with us being within driving distance, there was no need to be on location with us. We are very happy with our network stability and would highly recommend TrueNorth.

True North does an excellent job for us and I highly recommend them. We are a community health clinic that has four (4) ambulatory health clinics across the 3 rural communities of Othello, Mattawa, and Connell all in Washington State. True North has been our Centricity Vendor and Partner for the last 2 years and does all of our CPS upgrades (we currently run CPS 12.0.11 with patch 6a) in addition to hosting our Centricity Testing Environment. Additionally True North provides us level 3 and level 4 CPS technical and data support as needed and its nice to have a partner so well versed and experienced in Centricity CPS. As we are very rural we currently have our production CPS environment on premise until we have more reliable internet circuits.
We've been a client of TNG for almost 3 years. We've been very happy with the services. They currently provide hosting support for 98% of our IT infrastructure. We saw a significant decrease in down-time as a result of contracting with them for our hosting services. We have two operating clinics and one administrative/billing site. We run in a wireless, primarily thin client environment. We employ two IT staff on-site for break/fix and software upgrade or development support. But, we also contract with TNG to provide additional support for when our internal staff are unavailable or unable to resolve issues. TNG has been great about proactively partnering with our on-sight staff for training and trouble-shooting. I appreciate the size of their organization. They are large enough to offer a depth of knowledge in centricity software and redundancy, but they are not so large that you feel undervalued as a customer. Overall, we're happy with our decision to work with them and plan to do so in the future.
Our company has been with True North ITG for a few years but I have known and worked with some of their team for some years prior to that. We currently have CPS 12 EMR only but are adding PM to seven clinics. We are onboarding two RHCs in the coming few months and True North, being our server hosts, have been there every step of the way with our GE Team and our company. They are knowledgeable and friendly people who get to the root of the problem and find a resolution expediently.
I usually get a response the same day for even a small problem or question although if I call late in the day, I may have to wait until the following business day.
I would recommend True North ITG to anyone.
