I have an existing CPS installation on the original domain.
I was curious if we could set our active directory authentication lookup to include a new domain?
We created a Forest trust between both active directory domains and can cross authenticate between them, however we want to setup CPS to authenticate to two different domains.
I know in the server setup you specify the root domain: MedicalClinic.local
Could I set that to .local
Then adjust hte users to username@medicalclinic
then add users with new-users@newdomain
Anyone have any experience or how-to's for this?
We used to be set up this way from about 2006 to around 2012 or so when we virtualized our servers.
We never had any real problems with it, other than the extra steps of occasionally setting up cross-domain file permissions.
It's been so long I don't remember a lot of details unfortunately.
It can be done.
that is great to hear. was there any notes on how you craft the username?
was it username@domain1
and username@domain2
anything like that?
