Hi everyone.
I have encountered a problem and I believe we have the solution but I’m not sure if it’s possible. Two behavioral health Master Therapists became independently licensed this past Monday. The billing identification for the provider types are completely different and here is where the issue lies. We still have claims in process for the provider once we update Centricity it will update their information on the old claims to the new billing identification. There is not away to set date ranges for each billing identification set. The solution to this issue would be to create a new user for the provider with the new provider type information.
we ran into a similar issue when one of our providers made partner. Charges are still coming in prior to him becoming partner and they are to be divided amongst the original partners as he was a salaried provider at the time of their requisition. However, now that he is a partner he gets the direct benefit of those funds and the other partners do not. You can see why its a big deal.
We ended up creating another account for him where they can put his old charges so that they are distributed correctly. He doesn't sign into this account and for all intents and purposes only billing knows it exists. The only thing it functions as, is a place to put his old charges once they come in.
Hopefully this helps.
We had this issue as well. We also noted (on CPS) that lets say an RN retires and then hires back on in a different capacity, say an MA, and doesn't keep up on his/her RN credentials, so we change this in Centricity. All previous signed documents dating back to the creation of their RN user account now reflect their new credentials, so now all documents that the person had previously signed as an RN now look like they were signed by an MA.
So we opened an SR with GE a couple of years ago about this. GE tells us that this is by design, that if a user changes their credentials then they need to have a new and separate User account created for the new credentials. We found out that this also affected name changes as well, so if we want all of their historical signed documents to have their original name then we have to create a new User account for their new name as well.
wow, thats good to know
