I recently got the VFE program and I am trying to edit a form that I got from the trading post here. One of the sections has radio buttons that list symptoms with choice list: Inc,Dec,NC
I would like to remove/replace some of the symptoms. When I replace a symptom it still populates on the text side as the original symptom. When I add a new one, the translation on the text side is different than the other symptoms.
Example:
I would like to replace "Palpitations" with "Suicidal Thoughts". When we select one of the options for Suicidal Thoughts(such as Inc) it still populates on the text side as "Palpitations: Increased".
If I add a new symptom, like "Self harm Behavior" and select "Inc", it populates on the text side as "Self Harm Behavior: Inc" rather than "Self Harm Behavior: Increased" like the other symptoms do.
The connection type on these radio buttons is document variable. The variable names are unique. But even when I change a symptom and give it a unique name it still populates on the text side as the original symptom. Honestly I am not even sure where to view what is supposed to translate to the text side. The chart note under Translation tab for these buttons is blank.
What little training I had on VFE was almost a year ago and it is all kind of a blur. Any help would be appreciated.
When you open the original "Symptoms" object to modify it, you'll want to click on the Translation tab, so that you can view what is in the Chart Note section. You may also have to review what is in the Translation for your "Inc,Dec,NC" Choice List as they may or may not tie in to each other. This should help you get started. This is how I learned.
Believe it or not the Centricity Help Text can actually be more useful for determining the functionality and syntax of many of the functions inside VFE, more so many times than the VFE Help Text will give you.
Finally, Logical Innovations does offer classes on building forms in VFE.
I hope this helps.
You may want to share the form (the .dlg file) here. Often easier to understand since a box may be set to display last-signed (which would not be the current), or many other potential issues.
Click on the button to Add Media.
The Upload Files tab will allow you to browse and pick the file.
Then click to insert into post.
I have tried a couple of times to attach it. However, after posting I can't get it to open from this forum. Let me know if you would like me to e-mail it to you.
I found the translation for the form under the first section in VFE. So I can edit the translation from there. But I am curious as to why the translation was placed that way in the form. To me it seems to make it more difficult to edit. What am I missing?
Sometimes translation for variables are placed in odd places for placement in the documentation, if anyone else knows a simpler way that would be great.
For example the forms that go into our providers favorites (specialty ROS, PE, etc) have the translation stuck within the originals document templates form so the the documents text stays the same throughout and doesn't jump around.

Help!! I found the translation for the form under the first section. However, whenever I edit this text it breaks the form. I worked on it all day yesterday to try and get it to work and I am at my breaking point.
I thought maybe I was trying to do too much at once yesterday so I started over today with a clean slate and am just trying to add a symptom for "Delusions" between "Concentration" and "Depressed Mood".
What am I missing!!??
If you want to email it to me, I can take a look.
