Recently we have had several users unable to use the Web Lookup button in the Medications tab. They previously could use this function. We have users that can use it without any problems.
Does anyone have an idea on what we could do to trouble shoot this? Or has someone else encountered this?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Are they getting an error message? Are these fat clients or a Citrix/Terminal Server environment? Is it one particular web site? The first thing that comes to mind would be firewall blocking.
we have had instances where specific medications were unable to be looked up. When investigating with GE it turned out that the web provider needed to update codes / data so that proper matching and look up could occur. In our experience if you try different medications they will work, and the ones with error messages will clear up within a few days.
I don't believe that is a specific medication that is not available. I am able to use the weblook up for a medication and one of my staff is not. Most of our end users use Citrix for this function but it is not isolated to Citrix- one of my employees can't use it on her Fat Client in production but she is able to use it in our test environment. Our medication look up uses the Lexi-Drugs on line. When she goes to clic on the drop down for the "lookup mediation with: " on the medications tab it is empty! I know that the clinical web services are served up via the JBOSS so I believe it has something to do with that.
I will have our network folks look at the firewall issue.
Does anyone else have any ideas?
