GE tells me that Windows 8 is not a supported platform for EMR.
Has anybody attempted to install EMR clients in a Win 8 environment, successfully?
Do tell!
I would guess no, due to the newer version of IE mainly. I am not really even curious if it works in Vista, er, Win8 as we will avoid Win8 and -hope- there are better things ahead for Windows but the future does look bleak on that front.
Interestingly I have found CPS 11 to work with Windows XP and IE8 even though that was supposedly not possible. Surely if you had to open a case they would shut it down if they knew you were on either XP or 8.X
I have installed CPS11 on win 8 and win 8.1 and it works fine, but that was the only version I could get to work with it.

Which version of IE?
IE 9. You know, the one that works...

I didn't know you could install IE9 on Windows 8. It ships with IE10, correct?
Ooops... I have not started with Win 8 testing....
I believe it was IE 10.
We tried to install EMR 9.5 on a Win 8 test box and it would not even install. We got an error that stated that we needed to install on a Windows XP or newer machine. We got a smile out of that one.
I saw a GE webinar yesterday and they mentioned that CPS 12 supports Windows 8 and IE 10

We have 9.5 on multiple Windows 8 machine including everyone in it except a few. Runs fine but with some weird things like needs a xp or newer version but we found a work around, one of which I can't remember. We've upgraded with every upgrade GE comes out with but with some bumps on win 8 such as it takes an hour compared to an xp machine which takes 10 minutes.
I had a copy of CPS 10.1 installed on my Surface Pro and I couldn't perform searches for patients, link logic wouldn't work, among other issues. We called GE and they stated that it was in part an issue with the version of IE but ultimately Windows 8 isn't supported. Back to logging into our Citrix box for me...
