It was brought to our attention that we are sending patient information to employers and workers comp carriers that we shouldn't. All of our office notes include PMH, PSH, Medications, and a problem list. We shouldn't be sending anything to the employer/wc carrier that doesn't directly pertain to the workers comp case. I did create a new Encounter type that just omitted all the PMH, PSH, medications etc forms. The providers didn't like this because in case they have to do an H&P, they need all that information in the chart.
Does anyone have a work around for this?
Are you using custom forms or CCC forms? If you are using custom forms you could use a check box to insert those areas into the note as needed.
We use quick text to enter our Med and Problem lists into our H&P encounters. That might be a possible work around for you with the work comp encounters.
