We have a physician who sees patients for a workers compensation claim and he also is their family physician. My concern is the BWC information should not be in the patient's regular medical record.
Does anyone have this issue? I am wondering if the physician should document on paper the patient's BWC information. Then as their family physician document in GE?
Thanks in advance!
We had done both WC and family practice in the past. We dropped WC over a year ago.
When we DID do it though, we created a WC document type so the data wouldn't be counted in the MU data like an Office Visit would. We also added a confidentiality type for WC so when med records printed out charts, they had to go the extra step to print the WC visits thus keeping them from going along with the remainder of the chart.
