I am wondering if any other clinics are using c-speak? We have been using it for a year now and are having lots of problems. Looking to see if other people are having success thsat can help, or similar issues.
A few of our providers started using Clinically Speaking about six months ago. So far they've liked it.
What issues are you running into?
listening... I spoke with Nuance at Centricity Live and they did admit it required a bit of start up configuration and if not setup properly it could be a hindrance.
we just have bugs. Curser jumps around, mic errors, stuff wont transfer all the time.... we are having a hard time troubleshooting the product to fix it.... we have so many variables to find the issues. It seemed to work good at first, but more and more issues are coming faster than we can resolve.. just wondering if someone else has similar issues, so we can help troubleshoot.
We are using this application with near flawless interaction. In fact, users who have been using the classic version of Dragon who have stopped using it because of issues have fallen in love with this software and became regular users.
I am curious of your specific issues?
One thing to point out. If you are using laptops, you MUST disable all but the primary microphone. The multiple microphones will cause major issues.
Also ensuring the specified sites are leaving your network adequately.
that is great to hear!! our providers love the system when its working right... we are determined to find the issues, and fix them... the commands in cspeak are fantastic!
It has worked great for us for over 10 years. I do have issues with Nuance's weird licensing where you pay per provider but you have a finite amount of keys to install the software on workstations. I am never able to reclaim those keys when I uninstall either. So whenever a GE tech wants to get me off the call and give me the homework assignment to "reimage the OS" it costs us one precious key.
The only other issue we have had is with roaming profiles causing corruption. This seems to be a user error though, where a user is opening multiple computers in the exam rooms too quickly before the username.lck is deleted by the startup/initialization process.
The recognition can be improved by running that audio setup, using the speaker's voice, not anyone else. This is especially helpful if the environment is noisy or becomes nosier/quieter since it was last run.
Clinically Speaking has always been our go to company for our voice needs. We have them train our new doctors/ARNPs when we hire them and they also set up numerous helpful macros

We too have had great success with Dragon Clinically Speaking. With the random clicking, make sure your mics are not sent to have the buttons navigate. We found that our providers accidenlty kept closing the form or tabbing. So we pretty much give them the record and listen button to start. I agree that the check audio helps a great deal. Once the profile gets corrupted we just replace it with a previous version of their saved profile. As indicated it does seem to be provider specific; we have providers who will access the EMR at home and dictate from home, then their profile will sync up when they bring their device back in. We had some issues with Mics a while back where they had to use the same Mic type for both devices or it corrupted their file, but we are out of the old mics now so it isn't a problem. We have providers who simply dictate, but we have others who create and change their own templates on a regular basis. Contact support and they will trouble-shoot with you to fix your issues. You should be loving it. It is one of the best things we have ever done..
