On CEMR 9.8.6 with June KB & Special updates applied, we are trying to test the switch to the ICD10 defaults. It is our understanding that by changing the date in setup under chart > coding requirements> ICD10 effective date to a prior date, it should then default the problem search screen to look for ICD10 codes. With ours set to 7/8/15, it still defaults to ICD9 code searches.
Has anyone successfully switched the effective date in setup & been able to get the 'code type' dropdown in the problem search screen to default to ICD10?
We must be missing something. Any help or insight on this would be appreciated.
I was told by GE yesterday that there is a defect in this functionality and they will be supplying a script to fix. They stated we should have been informed of details yesterday (never heard anything).
They stated this fix will be incorporated in SP 10.

Thank you. I also just got an update on a customer collaboration call that there is a SPR assigned: 54777. Also noting it should be fixed in SP10.
This makes testing difficult to say the least.
I've added my organization to the SPR, but did not get any info on an available script that would fix the issue in versions prior to SP10. Jill, if you wouldn't mind, could you let us know if GE supplies you with a script to fix the issue in your current version? Our organization has been targeting 9/1 as the date we wanted to have all the tools in place for providers to start coding ICD10. Giving us 1 month to address any major issues. Due to the delay of SP10's release, along with the apparent inability to 'flip the switch' on the search screens in our current version, I'm not sure how we will accomplish this.
If I get another email from GE urging us to start using ICD10 by 8/1...
Of course! 🙂 I'll reach out to them today to see if there are any updates.
Regarding SP10, we had a demo yesterday of their ICD-10 Problem search capabilities.
It's similar to Blackbird but clunkier (providers prefer BB). BB also has HCC (Medicare) codes which will provide us additional funds. GE will eventually incorporate HHC capabilities (for a charge).
Due to time constraints, we are pursuing both SP10 (limited availability install - July 28th release supposedly) AND Blackbird. BB is a very easy install and relatively cheap (~$140/provider per year) but it ONLY works with IE10 so that is our hurdle.
Will keep you posted!
I have screenshots/documentation from the SP10 demo that I put together if anyone is interested.
It ONLY covers the Problem search functionality. SP10 also contains ~50 SPR fixes. Release notes are not available yet. I can't seem to add media to posts here so email me if you would like the document. [email protected].

Boo-Ya! Figured it out (I think). Document hopefully attached.
Here are the details for the Enterprise Date from GE:
The ENTERPRISE DATE does NOTHING for EMR, just on the CPS PM side (11.x and 12.x). If this is an EMR only customer, no need to do anything. Here is a doc I just put on the service portal for customers on it from end to end.
I have the document sent to me if anyone is interested.

Thank you Jill! We are CEMR only customers. The issue we were left with is that since that effective date doesn't do anything, there is no way for us to have our providers default their problem search screen to ICD10 codes until SP10, which is set for GA after our internal target date (for providers to start utilizing ICD10 codes). We are working with GE to be an early adopter for SP10 now.
We were hoping there was a script available for customers on current GA versions of CEMR to change the problem search default ICD9 to ICD10 codes, but that does not appear to be the case.
Looking forward to testing SP10!
