We have been trying now for a month to get the workflow for this measure to actually populate the MUActivityLog. We have sent numerous secure messages from linked test patients to providers. So far we have been unsuccessful. Has anyone been able to get this measure to populate the MUActivityLog? If so, did you have to do any configuration to the portal or Centricity? Please help.
Thanks
Evanthony
We are on Centricity/Surescripts portal and yes we do get a measurement. Let me know if you have questions I might be able to answer.
By 'getting measurements' I assume you mean that your MUActivityLog is being populated with the event ID for MU Stage 2:17, which is 520. Did you have do any special configuration? How did you accomplish this?
Thanks
ef what portal do you use? Is it Kryptic?
Yes, we are using Kryptic.
Yes that is correct. We are getting the "520" id's as well as getting data in CQR. You know I can not remember having to do anything special for this one. One suggestion is to ensure you are on the latest version of Secure Messaging. We are currently on 6.4.6.30. All I have done is setup the providers on the portal and provide a providers list to the message forms for patients to select from. Other than that I can not think of anything, as I do not recall ever having a issue with this measure.
cecild,
We are scheduled to upgrade to latest version next week. We thought that may be the problem as well. But it is good to know that someone is getting results. We will let you know how it works after the upgrade.
Thanks,
ef
Hi ef,
We were also getting CQR numbers in the portal for messages. It was told to us that the patient needed to have a responsible provider in the EMR registration page to get data but we found this to not be true. The other thing we found is that any provider who had a visit with the patient during the reporting period would get credit for a message sent from the patient - even if the message went to a provider at a different practice. This was strange for us seeing as we have an enterprise system used by 75 independently owned practices so when the patient messaged their PCP the completely separate podiatrist got credit too....
Also we found that when the patient consented in kryptic (which creates a document record in their chart in the EMR in our set up) this was counted as a message.
So in short we found we got too much credit for this particular measure - the only other thing I'm sure you've already checked: you are creating an MU relevant visit in the test patient's chart in the EMR with a clinical date inside the reporting period you are evaluating/testing, correct?
I beat the crap out of this measure back in April so please feel free to reach out if you want me to help you poke around - it isn't the freshest in my head but it'll come back to me.
Thanks
Mike
