For the life of me, I cannot get a single patient to show up as "MET" in the CQR dashboard for CMS 22.
I've read the GE quality manual over and over, I've tried test patient after test patient with different combinations of DX, patient attributes, BP reading, etc. It appears to me in the insight tab that I'm doing EVERYTHING like the GE manual says and I have patients who are UNMET over and over.
Is there anyone out there who is getting this measure to "MEET" in the CQR dashboard? If so, HOW?
Also, I've worked with GE for a while on this measure and can't get anywhere.
Hi,
We are receiving credit in the dashboard. What we do is when staff take the blood pressure and its out of range a trigger appears on the Follow up tab for the provider. I have a button that says follow up with PCP that tags the OBS term BP REC F/U and then the provider documents that the patient was told to see Primary provider. I made sure that the BP REC F/U OBS term was linked in the Data mapping section of the EMR. Misty
Thanks Misty............that's how it worked for me too when using the 2017 MIPS configurations.
But, since we recently loaded the 2018 measures, it is requiring additional information. Would you mind checking your data mappings and telling me if you are on 2017 or 2018?
Thanks Misty. Would you mind checking your data mappings and telling me if you are on 2017 or 2018? I'm thinking that we have only been seeing "MET" for the ones with BP <120/80. And none of the others are meeting because of (Reason: Finding of Hypertension). Even though I've mapped in this finding to an obs term in Administration, it doesn't give credit when the obs term is clicked.
The GE Quality Guide says "For attribute "Reason: Finding of Hypertension", record the problem of Hypertension on the problem list with a start date before or on the same date as the "follow up" intervention order."
So, I'm thinking that I have to actually add a dx of HTN to the list if BP is >120/80 in order to satisfy the "Reason: Finding of Hypertension" piece.
And our docs will probably be pissed for a HTN dx to be added for a BP 120-139/80-89.
Any feedback is welcome and appreciated.
We just switched to 2018 at the beginning of the week so we may end up in the same boat. I currently have a ticket out with GE because our Tobacco measure is zero at this point. We are Ortho so we don't diagnose Hypertension we only add it as a diagnosis if the patients states they have it. I will let you know what the outcome is. Thanks, Misty
Our tobacco screening is jacked up too 🙁
Upon drilling into the issue, I believe that the patients who are UNMET for tobacco screening have a value of never smoker as entered on the risk factors form.
But, the data mapping in admin is looking for Never smoker. That capital letter is likely making a difference. But I can't get the mapping to match the term on our form.
Seems like there are lots of issues with the 2018 mappings.
