NOTE: There are a few other threads about this exact measure.
Ok, to start this one off, we've been working with GE for the last few weeks to get a better understanding of why our providers are not getting credit for this measure. The only problem is, we haven't gotten any closer to finding a definite answer to the problem. I've been reading that this measure is broken and will be fixed sometime this month, but so far it doesn't look like that's going to happen. I know this measure is SNOMED driven, and the med's review must be checked during the clinical update for it to trigger, and GE has assured us that our SNOMED service code is correct. When recalculating our CQR, we are presented with "Measure Met" in green, as if it counted for MU, except that we are also shown that we have 113 "unmet" patients. That seems broken to me.
So, my question is this. Is there anyone else that is getting this measure to work, and if so, what are your provider's workflows? Any help is appreciated.
We would also like to check our workflow. I would hate to get the a "fixed" report just to find out we are missing some small step in the workflow!
What SNOMED code are you using?
This service code was entered by our GE rep:
Meds Reviewed - SCT-428191000124101
We have been successful in getting CMS68 to calculate correctly. I ran 6 test patients through the gambit and got 1 to stick, so I pushed that workflow out to our clinics. The MA when rooming the patient is adding the service code SCT-428191000124101 through a custom list for the physician to sign (it does not transfer to visit). It has to have an end date on the service order - I instructed them to put 1 day. The end date was the only way I could get it to count in CQR.
Also - you can go back in time and correct through an append. We look for the OBS Term MEDS REVIEW before we proceed with the Append for the service code.
