We have been attempting to utilize the CQR reporting tool for over a year and every time that we think the data is reporting correctly we come upon another issue that is creating incorrect data. It seems as though we take one step forward and 10 steps back. We are interested in hearing success stories using CQR as we try to sort out where to go from here.
are you using the dashboard for reporting and which measures are you having issues with?
We are in the same boat. We spend more time chasing bugs and trying to get clean data. Every time we get one fixed something else quits working. I have measures(CMS 165, CMS 22) that work for 18 doctors and not 4 even though every data point is the same and crossing into CQR (I've spent lots of hours auditing multiple patients per doctor). I'm on my fourth customer service rep who all just read the exact same manual that I have. Its becoming hard sell when the data is unreliable. I'm trying to stay positive but after a year and half I don't have time to spend 50% of my time trying to get decent data.
We are utilizing the dashboard. Most of our measure issues have been centered around the the breast cancer screening and diabetes measures.
GE has just released an updated version of their analytics product but we haven't installed it yet. We abandoned the CQR product from GE because we found it to be too cumbersome to operate, and having to submit data and wait 24 hours for the results was frustrating. We also found that unless you follow GE's workflows to the letter, the data is just a bunch of blue smoke and mirrors. We have since built our own solution to generate the numerators and denominators for our MU/PQRS/CQM metrics because we can trust the data and get instant feedback on where a particular provider stands. We prototyped the solution by building the query logic into MS Access which then generates some custom reports. Our practice administrator is much happier now. At some point we will be moving it to SQL server. I feel your pain.
I can't speak for myself because we don't even have CQR but I have heard some success stories unfortunately I've heard more bad. However I do know there is a lot of truth in what virtualHITman says. Everything needs to be perfectly setup and mapped for it to work well.
On Friday I was able to speak with a Timothy at GE. He stated that he already had an SR with programming for my issue (He didn't send me the SR number for that). He says that the CQR program has trouble reading the Encounter code date because we have ours set to pending. He said until the issue is fixed I either need to set all my E&M codes to auto complete or attach a Snomed code that auto completes to all the visits. All my providers that sign their notes the same day as visit aren't getting credit. Those that are signing the next day or a month later are getting credit.
