We are having trouble meeting the Objective 8 - Patient Electronic Access ( Timely Access). I know patients are counted in the numerator even if they "opt out" and are given all the necessary information to access their information, or opt back in without follow up action.
We are not sure on how to record this? What is CQR looking at when calculating the opt-out numbers? Would someone be able to share their workflow? I appreciate all advice and suggestions.

We're using a run process button:
{OBSNOW("PATPORTALPIN","Offered")}
To further help; that button doesn't show if PATPORTALPIN is not blank, we also have the banner reflect an icon for our 4 different portal values. In our banner is:
{if OBSANY("PATPORTALPIN")="Y" then ":" else if OBSANY("PATPORTALPIN") = "I" then "." else if OBSANY("PATPORTALPIN") = "Offered" then "2" else "*" endif endif endif}
The ":" "." "2" "*" are in wingding font to show a computer, mailbox, piece of paper, and an envelope.
With this, staff know to only look for the button if the icon is an envelope.
Our numbers for this measure are fine since this was implemented. We've been doing this for a year now so the only patient we have that don't have a value are new patients.
