Has anyone attested for MU successfully and reported on both "Public Health" measures? If so can you answer the following question for me?
What if a practice already reports to NYSIIS, they would not take an exclusion for the immunization registry. Can they take an exclusion for the syndromic measure?
Any guidance on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
Nicole
CMS prefers that practices only choose one of the public health measures, particularly if one is an exclusion, but to my knowledge, they haven't prevented anyone from choosing both. In fact, I know of at least one specialty practice (ortho) who claimed an exclusion from both successfully.
Thank you for the reply, we had been told that we would not be able to successfully attest for Medicare if we selected both public health measure. That said we have since tried to bring our % up on a few other menu set items in hopes to attest successfully. We are only reporting on our Family Practitioners, so I have to wonder if they allowed the reporting for the ortho site you spoke of because they are a specialty?
Thank you again for your reply, you have definitely eased some of the tension.
