We typically send from the chart with the SM encounters. This creates a doc type of Ext Corr

We received our "retouch" last night. Ran our reports today and are still calculating a 0% for Preventative Care - Core #13 MU2. Any workflow recommendations, advice??
Thanks in advance.
-Missy
Missy,
#13 has to be done from printing from the Truven website. To get there go to either problem or medications summary screens and click on the blue circle with the "I" in it. Navigate to the document you desire and print. I believe this has to be done while the visit is open. The old patient handouts will not give you the numbers for the report.
Hope this helps,
Cecil
Missy,
I was a little confused about your question about Preventative care. You reference Core#13 which Cecil responded that it had to be done from the Truven website, but if you are actually referring to the Preventive care reminders, I believe it is measure 12, that is done by printing reminder letters from the patient's chart. The letter has to be in a folder that is named 'Actionable'.
From Achieving Meaningful Use with CPS...
Setup
To add or change letters, go to Administration > Charts > Letters > Letter Templates.
Create a folder with the word "actionable" as part of the title, where letter templates are stored. For example, a folder can have a title of "Actionable Reminders". Subfolders can be created under the "actionable" folder.
An actionable reminder is for preventive or follow-up care that prompts the patient to take a new action. For example, a reminder to a patient about her upcoming mammogram is not considered an actionable reminder because the patient has already scheduled the mammogram. However, a reminder to a patient that she is due for a mammogram and need to schedule one, is considered an actionable reminder because the patient must take a new action to schedule the appointment.
Workflows
Current product supports sending reminders through inquiries and letter templates.
Note. You may need to modify the location of existing letters to use for this purpose. Changes do not retroactively apply to past audit events.
Send reminders from the Inquiries module
Before using this feature, store reminder letter templates in a root level Letters folder with “Actionable” in the folder name. When letters are sent using these templates they are considered for Meaningful Use.
After configuring and running an inquiry to identify a list of patients, select Send Reminder in the Activity list to set up and print a reminder letter for each patient.
When we first attempted this, we ran the letters and patients with the inquiry and still got the 0%. We have the "Actionable" folder within another folder, could that be a reason???
That may be the reason.....looking at this paragraph...Create a folder with the word “actionable” as part of the title, where letter templates are stored. For example, a folder can have a title of “Actionable Reminders”. Subfolders can be created under the “actionable” folder.
It sounds to me like you need a folder in the Letters folder with 'Actionable' as part of the name and then you can have subfolders under it. I would definitely take a look at that.
Keith
Can you post a copy of your inquiry. I curious how you did the 2 office visits 2 yrs prior to reporting period.
Thanks,
Cecil
Cecil, Sorry, we haven't actually done this yet....I was just passing along what the instructions said. However, now that you mention it, that is part of the measure, isn't it? If GE is saying this is the workflow on meeting this measure, you would think that they would have included the inquiry to pull these patients since it's not quite as straight forward as one might think.
Some of our providers have been using the Recall function within PM Scheduling to "schedule" the recall but that has nothing to do with the chart so we are not using this particular Menu item, currently but I think GE needs to take this back to the drawing board cause it isn't quite finished yet, in my humble opinion.
Linda
Linda,
Yes, I agree. I have a question going to GE as well to see if I'm overlooking something on this.
Thanks,
Cecil
