Are any multi specialty groups going after this measure? If so, what measures are you using for your specialists? We have 17 specialties, so the system rules don't apply to all and we need to build more. Just curious what others are doing with this one. We are limited with GE and our State as to which Menu Measures we can do, so this is not really optional for us.
I have set the CDS up per specialty. I have built these in the PSIA-ccc, using the treatment deficiency and test management functionality.
Examples:
Ortho: if patient has a dx of Gout, the system looks for a Uric Acid level, if one is not found it will ask if they want to order one now.
ENT: if the patient has a dx of Meniere's and on a diuretic the system looks for Potassium, Sodium, BUN and Creatinine in the last year.
Neuro: in they have a seizure dx and are on a specific anti-seizure med do they have a medication lab level in the last 6 months.

Do you know if you have to use the CPOE CCC in order for the system to pick up the prompts? We are looking at our PSIA CCC files and they are all turned on, but we are not getting any prompts.. Not sure what we are missing
We do use the CPOE and that is where the prompts launch from. I don't know if there is another way to use these.
I wonder if we could take the prompts that are there and put them in protocols and achieve the same effect. What do you think?
