Trying to find out how users of Centricity EMR 9.8 and using Surescripts for your patient portal is acquiring this information:
"
messages sent to patients. It has not been updated to the 2016 rule."
l Updated Measure: "For an EHR reporting period in 2016, for at least 1 patient seen by the EP during the
EHR reporting period, a secure message was sent using the electronic messaging function of CEHRT to the
patient (or the patient-authorized representative), or in response to a secure message sent by the patient
(or the patient-authorized representative) during the EHR reporting period."
I am just looking at what CQR captures, verifying that info for each provider and then using that for attestion since it only requires 1 patient and I don't have a huge number of providers. Wha tis everyone else doing?
Do you have auditing turned on in Centricity? "
Make sure that Secure Message sent is configured in Go > Setup > Settings
> System > Auditing under Log Audit Events"
We use CPS, but there should be something similar in EMR, in Admin>System>Auditing (Clinical)> There is an option to audit Secure Messaging Sent. I have this selected and then can run an audit report to prove we have sent a messages to patients.
Good luck!
Then how do you run the actual audit?
In CPS go to Chart Reports>Reports>Medicallogic>Audit Reports and then select the event you want to report on (Secure messaging).
Never mind - figured it out
