We are looking at GE EMR and I am wondering about reporting the clinical quality measures for PQRS and MU. Do you feel that the GE product does a decent job at collecting and submitting the data? Are you limited to certain PQRS measures that tie only with MU? Does GE submit the data to CMS on your behalf or can you submit yourself by downloading a file? We want to obtain an EMR system that will make this process less of a headache than it is. Thanks Sharon
We've been REALLY unhappy with the data collection. It's clunky and GE keeps redoing reports and measures because of problems. There are about 45 measures for PQRS, marked on the attached spreadsheet. You can download QRDA1 and QRDA3 files and submit them yourself as long as you're reporting individual providers, but you have to pay them for GPRO submissions.
I am really surprised that this only got one response.
Personally, I would run in the other direction. The GE interface is old and clunky, as stated above the reports have constantly been updated. Your workflow for one version of CPS may not work in the next, and I am talking with service packs, or web site updates that there aren't notifications on. I went from having a nearly 98% compliance rate with one measure to 5% because there was a change and I wasn't aware of it.
If you want to constantly watch, reprogram for your MU measures, and still not be sure if its correct (and most likely it won't be), sure welcome aboard.
Essentially...don’t blink. Don’t even blink. Blink and you’re dead. They're fast. Faster than you can believe. Don’t turn your back, don’t look away, and don’t blink! Good luck.
We have also been Unhappy with this system. There is always a problem which comes with an excuse that they are aware of it and will be corrected with the next fix. This however has never worked and these so called fixes have caused more issues and has put us in a bind at times.
The dashboard for MU and PQRS never calculates data accurately and you will not find out about it until its time to get ready to attest for MU and you are left scrambling to meet requirements. When inquiring with such issues we are told to refer to the user manual.
