Just watched the webcast about the new GE/surescripts/kryptiq/whoever claims responsibilty
I saw necessary enchancements that make the portal almost usaable were only being released to CPS customers..
thanks ge. I think we feel have finally made the decision to give up on MU this last year, and probably QRS in a the future.
Where did you see the webcast?????
I am curious which features you are referring to.
CPS users have the ability to add URL links to different places within CPS such as the PM and chart modules which EMR doesn't. Surescripts, a 3rd party company, decided to use that ability to add a button that simply eliminates the need to search for the patient in the add from chart workflow. This doesn't seem like a huge deal to me. That being said, I don't understand why GE doesn't add this same functionality to EMR.
What was not mentioned in the video was the patient self scheduling will depend on the PM system you are using. If you are on Centricity GM, you will not be able to setup ANY patient self scheduling solution from any company. The reason is that GM does not accept inbound HL7 scheduling messages. We see this as an issue since we are on GM and would like the ability to have patient self scheduling, but we are told that the GM team is working on creating an inbound scheduling interface. The last GM update included the ability to accept inbound scheduling via HL7 for a schedule that is exclusively scheduled via an external source. Supposedly in the near future this would be enabled for all schedules.
Everything else seems like it does/should work with CEMR.
firstly, we would never allow self scheduling, but use the GE EMR for scheduleling. I don't know what Centricity GM is. For front office/billing we use Medisoft.
Obviously the biggest issue is not having a register button in EMR, which will be available in CPS which kicks off the add from chart workflow.
Also it was stated they do not know if the contact by would not be updated in EMR, but for sure in CPS.
My understand was GE was going to keep EMR and CPS in feature parity.
Also, I can't believe that the lab view in the portal has not been fixed, it just shows a big blog of all overservation terms... useless. If there was one thing I we would use the portal for (other than just for meeting just just some government regulation) would be for sending/showing lab work, so we don't have to snail mail it.
Also pretty ugly that the obs terms come in as lab documents.
in other words we disagree that the registration button isn't a big deal.....
I mean it is. you are obviously going to have the patients chart open, to be able to skip, opening the portal and searching for the patient.
They didn't show anything about logging in.... do they have some sort of SSO solution implemented as well for the add from chart module?
