Hi All,
So we are going all in on the proposed change to MU stage 2 and I am wondering what registries others are using for this measure? As a bit of back ground we have 75 practices and about 17 specialties. The only registry we've really found at this point is the immunization registry but that also really only applies to Primary Care and OB/Allergy specialties - no one else gives immunizations. We'd like to do syndromic surveillance but our state (Mass) does not yet accept this data from the ambulatory world and, as our practices are independent, we do not do PQRS submission centrally (thus we do not have a "live" connection).
Would anyone else mind sharing what registries they are trying to work with? We now have to submit to two as the wording effectively says "if there is a registry that will take your data you need to work with them" and it is very hard to prove a negative for an exemption. I feel like there are a lot of "wins" in the proposed changes but this one might be worse than everything we got...
We did at least submit a comment regarding this, hopefully CMS will either open this measure up or, at the very least, provide an approved list of registries that you can connect to - if none apply than an exemption is ok.
Thanks
Mike
Hi,
We are using the National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) which they call Pinnacle. This registry is through the American College of Cardiology. It has been a very easy implementation process so far, and they have a great team. Here is a link to their website:

This is the only other one we are submitting to so far (aside from Immunizations). They also have a Diabetes registry but I have not done much investigation into it bc we were only looking to satisfy one last menu measure at the time. The Pinnacle registry does meet the requirement for the original measure prior to the proposed rules but I have not read through the measure since the NPRM to ensure it still does...
Please feel free to email me if you are interested in more information/feedback @ [email protected].

Thank you very much for the info! I think both of these will be useful for us - diabetes for one can cover a lot of our specialists, cardiology as well although to a slightly lesser extent.
I'm going to read through the site and information but I may reach out, thanks again!
Mike
I would like to know also what registries everyone is using?
