We use referral orders to send information to external providers. We've been only sending the TOC documents required by MU through the orders module and having our Medical Records team fax over all records.
We'd like to use the referral coordination section to send chart information (chart summary, flowsheets, various chart notes, etc) via electronic fax. They have this option available but we can't seem to get it to be very functional.
We have Biscom and can select any external provider to send faxes electronically from the point of care but doing so through this particular section displays the Biscom dialog box for every single piece of chart information selected to send. This creates multiple clicks/time to enter the same information, multiple cover sheets and lots of confusion.
Is there any other way to send the same great information via Biscom that can be done in a single step from the orders module?
Thank you so much!
I have an application that my clients use to manage their referrals and send everything through Biscom without extra steps. Please contact me if you are interested. I can demo it for you, also, you can visit my website below to view video demo:

I'm not aware of anything in GE that will combine the documents into one fax - you will need a third-party solution such as in the other answer. I also believe Summit has a solution, I'll need to check my notes but it was too pricy for an FQHC like us.

Feel free to contact me. We have developed functionality to transmit any set of documents with efficient interface, including the ability to seamlessly fax signed encounters.
We use the Referral Dashboard mentioned above and it really is a work of art. So much cheaper than other options we looked at. We use the dashboard exclusively for our referrals as it bi-directional to GE. It combines all documents that live inside CPS into one .pdf and allows you to send the entire document through biscom. It also has a "Master Dashboard" view so your referral administrator can see how everyone is doing.
The tracking of referrals is something we used to have a big issue with. The Referral Dashboard changes the colors of the banner and the color of the status of the referral to let you easily see where your urgent referrals are so they can be more easily found and addressed.
I would highly recommend looking at this product and getting a demo.
Are you using this toward the referral loop workflow for MIPS?
