Does anyone have an user yes/no or ok reminder prompts set up to pop up and remind docs what they did not enter for MU before closing their visits? If so, how are you doing this?
Anybody have any ideas? This would be a great help.
We put the majority of the MU ordering on our clinic staff, ultimately the provider signs the orders when they end the update. The MU orders that can only be submitted based on the providers clinical decision are the sole responsibility of the provider. All MU orders are placed via 'Action button' which we have colored purple, so they stand out. All providers are training to click purple buttons when present; we still struggle with meeting benchmarks. I have implemented an Enable/Disable expression so all staff know if they have already click a purple (MU) button.
Since our providers flows vary by inidividual, I have not found a way to enforce a 'User OK'
This is an interesting idea... but one that I'm not sure would work so well clinically due to the anticipated roar from the "Too Many Clicks" party. What if the provider opens, then places the document on hold during the course of their documentation or opens the encounter by mistake? Suddenly an "oops" grows into a frustrating miriad of clicks to get out of the update.
We use a modified version of the Meaningful Use Checklist form that is posted on the forums here. It's much easier to manage from an IT standpoint. I have it inserted into all qualifying encounter types for MU.
I think it's easy to have a popup when they are loading the doc template? that's is properly the only way to trigger a user/ok popup?

Thanks Sam, that is exactly what we are doing today too. The physcians surprisingly are still asking for the pop up in their face if they forget something. I would think it would be annoying and I am sure once I figure out and implement they will have me turn it off in a month anyway.
