We just upgrade to CPS 12 SP10. The forms within an encounter set longer maintain the order that a text component with this command dictates. If your 'insert_position' is 1 then the form will be first but no other numbers work for this function.
i wonder if this explains why the CCC-HPI forms no longer insert where specified.....
We have upgraded our TEST environment to Service Pack 10 (CEMR 9.8) We are seeing the same issue with the ADD_FORM_COMP. For example the HPI form for PEDS is inserting the bright futures in at the bottom of the encounter list. GE said that they are aware of this issue and placed us on the SPR list. I'm curious how other groups are working around this issue because it will definitely be an issue for our providers.
I belive the SPR for this is 1-730954616
The reason for this issue is that the ADD_FORM_COMPONENT data symbol was broken in SP10 for CPS. Any time the data symbol is used, it adds the form component at the bottom of the update (instead of in the position you indicated).
Are SR number for this (CEMR) is 1-730954422
In a stroke of luck the only two specialties that utilize this function in their forms also have a navigation bar in their forms that make moving around easy. It's not the greatest solution and the notes translate stupid (out of order) but at least all the information is in there and documentation can be done.
In my thread about SP 10 findings another user posted that there are rumors GE plans to fix this in SP12...

Hello, I'm hearing that GE will address this in SP12. Still please call GE and make sure you are attached to the approbate SPR's.
My providers are more upset about this than they are ICD-10. This really rocks their world not to mention makes their notes look like garbage. I don't thinks SP 12 is good enough thats at least 2 months out. We use this functionality a lot and our OB physicians are the most upset because it throws their genetic/prenatal Hx at the bottom and they are afraid something is going to get missed.
I agree with you that this is a big issue and normally I'm NOT one to defend GE but in this case I will. SP11 is already frozen because it's going to be released to LA soon. So SP12 is the first release they can fix it in without holding everything up which is how GE used to operate and when that happens Service Packs are months overdue because they keep being held up and the price we pay is not getting any fixes.
Good point, and we need SP11 sooner rather than later. As long as they keep them moving fast; I can forgive them. But SP 10 was in LA long before GA I would have thought this would have shown up then and been slated to be fixed before they closed SP11.
Agreed. It would have been nice to find it earlier. I'm actually surprised it got through the LA. My group tested the LA on our test server and didn't notice it. We only did a day or two before we went live on the GA.
FYI I spoke with GE and asked if this was still supposed to be fixed in SP12. They acted like they had never heard it was a problem. Perhaps we need to ask for updates on our cases. considering SP 11, like 10 was delayed when do you think we will see 12? March? My providers are NOT happy. Has anyone figured a work around for this? I have a couple different forms that pull in multiple forms and this is messing up the notes.
Petemarkey, Correct.
dduschel, I just checked with GE. The SPR is 55244 and the build work is already completed. There was a question weather it would be in SP12 or SP13 but they are checking that for us.
Thank you for the update. That makes me feel much better. I guess you can't expect everyone to know every thing at GE.
yes 🙂
