Hello All,
We just found an interesting issue in CPS. We had a user who was having a visit freeze on her when she moved from one tab of a form to the next. In the page's page close handler there is a PRINTHANDOUT() command. Looking at the MEL trace it looked like it was getting hung up at the end of the printing process. It turns out that the user inadvertently changed her printer and the print job was failing. In short, if there isn't an affirmative response from the printer it looks like the visit will hang.
Brad
Are you on 12.3 by chance? We have a ticket open about PRINTHANDOUT() locking the session for every attempt and we have not heard anything of substance back. I wonder if it is a related issue.
No, we are still on 12.0.13. I have heard about the issue in 12.3 that you are talking about and have seen it first hand in our test system. It's one of the reasons we are waiting on upgrading.
Michael posted that there is a 12.3 patch for the printhandout issue here.
