Hello!
I have been trying to connect our SAP Crystal Reports 2011 to Centricity for quite awhile now with no success.
- Tried report user with password REPORT
- Talked with VAR who said they only use Crystal Designer
After modifying a report and pulling it back into CPS we get login denied messages.
If I try with certain db accounts I can get to the params area but then SAP CR 2011 always fails after submitting with messages like "Failed to retrieve data from database" and "Unknown Database Connector Error". I must be doing something wrong any assistance would be appreciated.
I haven't set up Crystal with Centricity. If your database is configured for AD authentication, you might try your domain credentials. If not, you'll probably need to set up a database account.
You need to connect to your sql server using a account with Read access to the database and then point to your CPS database in your sql server.
user one of your current ODBC connection, if there arent any one that you can use.
create one using the SQL 2011 driver that cps install on your computer.
1-Name your odbc connection
1-a) you dont need a description
1-b) type the name of your hostname of your sql server
--click finish
2- Use sql authentication, put the username and password of a SQL account that at least reading access to the SQL database.
--click next
3- change the default database or your CPS database name.
dont change anything else from that screen
--click next
4-dont change anything from that screen and click finish.
the odbc connection manager is located on
Click start-> Control Panel - > Administrative tools --> Data sources (ODBC)
point to your SQL server, with database "your cps database name"
