Hello all,
We are in the process of on boarding a physician to our clinics and he was on Care360 EHR. He wants data to be imported from Care360 to Centricity. I need to know if centricity can take these formats as an import. These are the questions they were asking me for data conversion.
2.5.1 Access File based format
• Microsoft Access Database containing discrete data such as Problems, Allergies, Histories, Prescriptions and Radiology information. These are in a .dat file format.
• Chief Complaint an Encounter note sections in text format
• PDF files of Lab Results
• Uploaded documents in original loaded format
2.5.2 Consolidated – Clinical Document Architecture (CCDA) Format
• One CCDA formatted file per patient
• Uploaded documents are not included
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!
Hi Sharan,
I believe you will have to go a little deeper with that access database. It will have to be converted into a broken up RTF to work with Centricity, and some sort of utility will have to be built to read everything and format the way Centricity will require it. The PDF's can be attached as attachments or imported documents. It is all possible, but will take some work to get it all in there for it to be usable. If you need assistance, please feel free to contact me, I do these type of things and more.
I have worked with Lost Creek, based in Oregon, to import Access based data. They are able to import data in a variety of formats via a Link Logic interface. They are extremely competent and will be able to help solve your data import problem. Please understand, importing of data is an absolutely non-trivial issue.
Another possible approach is to find out if the data from the old system can be exported to HL7 files. They may then be able to be imported through LinkLogic without too much modification.
You mention lots of pdf files - in particular labs. Why would you want lab data in pdf form, and not mapped to GE OBS?
We worked with lostcreek as well and had mixed results. A lot if it may have had to do with the fact that the project lead left mid way through the project. It took them ~2.5 years to migrate our data completely. They did however completely migrate everything for us.
