We are a multi-specialty practice with current level 3 NCQA recognition for both PCMH (internal med Drs) as well as PCSP for our 10 specialists. I am in the process of completing the renewal for our specialists, and need to show 5 clinically relevant Clinical Decision Support examples for EACH of our 3 specialties (GYN, Gastro, and Sports Medicine).
I'm overthinking the definition of Clinical Decision Support, and hoping some of you may be able to share examples/ideas? NCQA says the support intervention can be paper based, or a tool in the EMR.
My Current Ideas:
1. Drug Interaction Checker in EMR (for all 3)
2. Breast & Cervical Ca Screening from our CareManager tool for GYN only
3. Colorectal Ca Screening from CareManager for GI only
4. DEXA Protocols (I think for all 3)
Other ideas? I know we have CDS in place, I am just having trouble idenfying it as it applies to each specialty.
Thanks in advance - Vikki Jones
Here are a few that we will be submitting for:
KM 20:A
PHQ-9 Screening
KM 20:B/E
Alcohol Screening, Drug Screening
KM 20:F
ADL Screening, Pain Assessment Screening, Fall Risk Screening
For your Alcohol & Drug Screening - do you use anything fancy? We have a Risk Factors VFE form, and if patient = yes for alcohol, then it prompts the counseling questions ... does that count? I know we capture Drug screening, but I dont think there is any intervention triggered, its just a dropdown on the Risk Factors form.
