I'm new to VFE and MEL and was wondering if anyone knew a way to autopopulate orders (or an order set) when a new patient is added to the EMR. I want to place a set of 5 orders automatically when a new patient is added to avoid mistakes and missing orders.
Is this possible?

It could only be done via a form or text component in an Encounter. You could have one or more new patient appointment types automatically add a certain Encounter which would contain a form or text component that would automatically add the orders (ideally checking to make sure they hadn't already been added) when it is opened. And then some kind of mechanism (pop-up or data display) to show the user the orders had been placed.
