It has been brought to my attention from a CHUG presentation that when you use the "Add From Chart" workflow on the Kryptiq patient portal that it bypasses the "I Agree" on the Terms and Conditions page. The PIN method still displays it to the patient and they have to accept during the online registration process. With add from chart...that option is gone.
For those of you using the "Add From Chart" workflow, how are you dealing with this? Are you printing the Terms and Conditions and collecting a signature?
Is the Patient Portal 7.0 in GA now?
We built our own Terms and Conditions page using the verbiage from the page used in the PIN process and added it as the first page the patient sees. If they click "Accept" they are taken to the next form. If they click "Decline" they are taken back to our website.
Hope that helps.
does the patient have to accept then every time they log in?
No, just when completing their pre-appointment forms. We have the portal set up to "direct" patients to complete the correct forms - the terms and conditions is the first "form" new patients must complete.
Do you mind explaining a bit more about how you were able to "direct" patients to complete a form after they logged in to their patient portal account the first time? Are you using Surescripts as your vendor?
Thanks,
Alice
No not yet. Version 7 is still in LA.
Alice,
We are using Surescripts as our portal vendor. We "direct" patients in several different ways.
1. We made a link on our home page as well as a drop down item for "Pre-Appointment Forms". Once this link is selected, the patient is taken thru all required forms. We did this by added messages to the patient after every form is submitted. The messages say something like: "Thank you for submitting your review of systems form. Press the Continue button below to complete your medical histories". We use verbiage like this on every form until they have completed everything we need. The verbiage changes once they have submitted the last form to say "Thank you for taking the time to submit your information on line. Your registration is now complete. Please select the button below to return to the home page"
2. We changed the verbiage sent in the email once the Add from Chart process is completed to include a link to the first form. Once the patient has logged into the portal, they can use this link to begin. The process described above "directs" them to the next form.
