Images that Patients are submitting to be put in their chart (using the portal) are coming in with large width and height dimension. For example: 4032 x 3024 pixels. The image is too large to be viewed in its entirety within the Electronic Medical Record Brower window causing the practice to have to scroll around to see the whole image. (The image can be viewed properly from the message board.)
We cannot use the Microsoft photo viewer software (which displays images properly) because it will allow users to view images from other charts and doesn't keep the view-ability to a single image that is selected in the chart.
GE was not able to provide a solution and asking patients to format their images to an appropriate h&w is not a reasonable solution. Has anyone else experienced this issue and/or found a resolution?
Not speaking from experience in this specific situation, but I'd start looking at Irfanview as a viewer, or perhaps a converter, although that might be a bit more difficult.
Personally I've used Irfanview since around Windows 95 or so for pretty much all image viewing. The hotkey F toggles between full size and fit to screen, and whatever setting it was left at is how it opens up the next time.
I don't have time to go into all the other good stuff it does, but it would certainly be a top contender.
