We use EZ portal, and have had it for 6 years. We are a small rural clinic with 2 providers. We have finally decided to go all in to try to cut down on getting results and other information out to patients. My question is how do clinics set up families where there are adolescents (even husbands - wife is probably the family connection) in the family so that we can keep results that should not get out such as STD, pregnancy, and certain medications.
Thanks for any ideas you can give us.
We use EZ Portal as well. Right now, medical records use the portal printer to send results to patients per request. But we have been discussing me building a program that will automate the process and limit what gets sent to them. If this is something you are interested in also, please don’t hesitate to contact me at [email protected]
We also use EZ Portal and only send the "office visit" document types automatically, but we have it set to not go out if the document is marked confidential. If you want to set "lab reports" to go out automatically, you could do the same thing. Set it up for no documents to go out if they are marked confidential, and then mark those labs as confidential.
