Hello! We are checking to see what workflow or processes practices are using to get credit for the patients who decline the patient portal. Has anyone created a form with a one button click that says declined and ties to the Obsterm for the Portal PIN? We are utilizing the Kryptic patient portal.
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
I re-wrote the PIN creation process. I too use the Kryptiq Patient Portal - and would be interested in hearing from others as the product is 'quirky'.
The first yellow button copies what is in the patient registration to the OBS code for email - did this so as to have a copy of what the email was at time of registration. The drop-down allows for selecting "Declined".
The orange button uses the same logic to generate a PIN.
The green button prints an instruction letter with the PIN, while the light blue button gives instructions on how to find the website and 'request a PIN'.
The Admin sections set a flag so I know that the patient's email was changed during this registration process - I run reports to make sure all our computer systems get the list of updated email addresses. The 2nd checkbox is to allow me each day to select PIN's generated the day before and send those individuals emails with personalized instructions (using a product from CSG Systems for this step).
This is what our screen looks like:
Here is the .dlg VFE file:
We started using Kryptiq's Add from Chart process rather than the PIN due to quirkiness 🙂 The process is MUCH easier to understand and our portal registrations have more than doubled.
We do still populate the PATPORTALPIN obs term with the verbiage "Offered but Declined" when patients decline portal access. Our schedulers do this using a form. We also use this form to indicate if patient declines CVS as this will help our MU #'s as well.
I have included the .dlg file as well as the screen shot below.
Hope that helps!
