We have been using the Surescripts portal since 2011, but I have currently been tasked with reaching out to other portal vendors. Does anyone have any suggestions? We are still using Surescripts and are looking at vendors that can enhance the Surescripts portal such as Odoro. However, we still want to keep our options open. We have an upcoming demo with Medfusion. Any other options out there that integrate/interface with Centricity?
We just signed with POS/SecurePay and they have a great patient portal for billing...but no solution for clinical/emailing your doc. So not sure if you are looking for both aspects or not. But POS's solution for the front desk looks so slick for posting payments...it will save us a ton of time.
Thanks for your response, it's greatly appreciated. We are definitely looking for an all inclusive type of portal, covering both clinical and pm aspect. I know our current Surescripts portal accomplishes most of what we want, but still leaves stuff to be desired. Thanks again for your response.
We are using Ezyaccess portal. We used to have Kryptiq portal and then switched to Ezyaccess. I like Ezyaccess much better. The forms for clinic were pretty easy to set up. We are meeting all the MIPS measures related to portal use.
Hello:
We use Intelichart Patient Portal. Not turning out to be what we were "sold" at sales presentation. They are working with us to improve the interface between their product and Centricity. A lot of information we need on the PM side is not populated and the EMR side is populated into a flowsheet which does not fit into the encounter note. Also cannot do a transition of care from Centricity for Medicare MIPS PI requirement so we failed on that this past year. Again, we were told they were certified and that we could use their portal for MIPS but I guess no one ever tested the 2 products together. Our doctors were NOT happy about that.
Surescripts was way too expensive to consider and EZ Access we used before with terrible results for the physician and patient.
I do not understand why or how these products are touted as being integrated with Centricity when they are not fully integrated. GE does not even support the populating of their own fields from a portal. Seems to me like it is 2 companies that are not talking to each other about how to make the product functional for the end user----US!
Anyway for now we are sticking with Intelichart, but will have to start looking at a Patient Electronic Registration software to meet our desire to populate our PM data and EMR data electronically rather than using paper.
Good luck in your search.
Michelle
We have Medfusion and have had if for about 6 months. I don't work with it much in my role, but our 2 administrators that do support it are not that thrilled with it. From what I hear, there are certain aspects that don't function as we were led to believe, some functionality that we were led to believe we'd be getting is just not there, and we were told that almost all user support questions/issues would be handled by Medfusion support, but our one administrator still ends up handling 80-90% of these questions/issues. I know if I asked them, at least one, but probably both would not recommend Medfusion.
One suggestion I can make, is if you can try to go to CHUG this fall, you will meet a number of vendors that offer some sort of Patient Portal. Some vendors are real concentrated on the portal side of things and less on Patient Pay and/or eDocuments and eSignatures, while others may concentrate on the Patient Pay or eSignatures/eDocuments, but still have a functioning Patient Portal, but it may not have all the bells and whistles that you might expect/want. If you can go to CHUG it gives you an opportunity to see small demos and compare these different aspects almost side by side.
I wanted to take the time to thank everyone that has provided input in relation to this question. From my initial observation here, it seems like our current portal, Surescripts, is where we might stay. We are happy with it, but just feel there are a few things that can be enhanced that don't appear to be on their immediate horizon. We are tinkering with adding Odoro's patient self-scheduling as well as utilizing integrated ROS forms. Anyway, I will definitely be at CHUG in Orlando in October and will continue to vet other portal vendors. In the meantime, if anyone else has additional feedback or suggestions, please keep them coming. Thanks!
Hi Patrick,
You might consider Phreesia as an add on solution. Phreesia has a nice front office and clinical integration. I've worked with several groups that have implemented their solution to fill the gaps where Surescripts and other portals are deficient and they are quite happy with the product.
Best,
Beth Rose
Would you be willing to share exactly what you think is better? We currently have the Surescripts Patient Portal and have recently been very unhappy with the product.
Thank you in advance.

Can we do a screen connect? It's been a while since we used the Kryptiq portal.
Sure. Just let me know some days and times that work for you and I will check my schedule.
How are you liking this portal? We have had this company reach out to us and they seem to be 50% higher priced than other quotes we have received.
