Hi All,
Hopefully this is the right place for this post. Yesterday we heard that only the provider set as the responsible provider gets credit for messaging with patient's via the portal. We have shared charts in a large organization with multiple specialist and PCP offices. Is it true that only the PCP will get credit for messaging even if the messages themselves are between the specialist and the patient? How are people handling this and/or planning to report on it? I know we have some time to figure it out but as we've just finished fully rolling out and training on the Portal and this will/could throw a monkey wrench in our plans. Thoughts?
Thank you,
Mike
Yes, it is true; GE has updated this as a Software Problem Report (SPR 59062) to be addressed by the Escalation and Engineering teams. No ETA as yet on alternatives.
Check out this other CHUG thread:
https://centricityusers.com/?pa.....y-clinics/
Options:
1. GE/Kryptiq SPR fixes issue
2. Find other MU report vendors
3. Providers don't pass
4. Randomly assign Resp Providers to Charts
Thank you very much, it is good (I guess...) to know we did not misunderstand this. I will make sure to watch for updates on that report. Hopefully GE/Kryptiq fixes this issue but I'm not holding my breath...
Thanks again
jamesedward - are there other MU report vendors??
From the CPS 12.0.3 Release Notes -
- Modified he signature of the ADD_MUACTIVITY_LOG() method to make it easier to use and more relevant to form developers. SPR 59254
This has the potential to act as a workaround if you develop forms. I tested it in our test database and it was recognized, problem is they left out the documentation on how to use it... anyone have any ideas? I tried running a trace through parts of the MU Checklist and didnt get any examples...
Here is the answer we got from Kryptiq:
I wanted to reach out to you with the information you originally requested.
Our engineers have provided me with the following information for you:
“Here is the name of the measure: EP Core_17_Use Secure Electronic
Messaging. this is measure is reporting on a the number of secure messaging a
provider sends to a patient. I attached the MU2 Measure for reference.
Kryptiq will give credit to which ever provider is selected by the patient
in the routing list. If it is going to a triage mailbox than we give credit to
the responsible provider for the patient.
For other vendors, SAIgnite has presented at past CHUG conferences. http://www.saignite.com/ I have no idea how they handle Stage 2, but others used them for Stage 1.
Theoretically, using http://projectpophealth.org/ as a starting point could be possible. This is ONC's free MU reporting tool for CQMs, shared with EMR vendors and anyone else. Not a easy path to pursue (basically the same idea as GE's software) since we'd have to repeat the work GE has already started. Exciting possibilities, but best saved for desperate times.
