With the upgrade to EMR 9.8 and Kyrptiq's portal to 6.4, they are using the CCDA to display labs to the patient. The CCDA contains every lab, even sensitive ones like HIV, Pregnancy Tests, Prenatal Genetic Testing, etc. In the past, we were able to remove these from going to the portal by removing them from the flowsheet view that was used to pull them. Does anyone know how we can remove them from the CCDA, or from the portal? At a minimum, we have told our providers not to sign any sensitive lab until they contact the patient with the results, but this is not a good long-term work around.
We are in the same situation. We had contacted GE and they did not provide a means of modifying the contents of the CCDA for this purpose. We also educate providers to not sign off on any sensitive results until the patient has been contacted.
There is no mechanism in either the EMR or SMPP to do this. GE and Kryptiq have been discussing this at a leadership level as it would take a revamp of the way the application is passing this CCDA-A currently through the service layer to Kryptiq.
We use Qvera to send our CCDA/CCD to our HIE and in the QIE there is a way to scrub certain information such as problems. We chose not to send certain problems to the HIE. I believe labs and medications are also available in QIE for scrubbing.
We have the same problem. We contacted Kryptiq/GE and they said the only way we could exclude those would be make the entire chart sensitive (just a sensitive document doesn't work). If the entire chart is sensitvie the user will see nothing when they go to their portal account. And GE will not support any customization of the CCDA-A. This seems like it could be a liability for minors who have STD testing and are on their parents family management account. The only other thought I have is to remove the mapping in our XRF but isn't that a step back?
dduschel,
How would you even modify the XRF? I didn't know this was possible with the outbound CCDA. We may chose not to, but I'd like to know how.
We also contacted GE on this and were told they are working on issues related to data between the chart & portal. We were added to an active SPR #61753. The other day I was on the Clinical Advisory with GE when they were reviewing the Portal roadmap & these are on the "soon" list, but there was still not a known release number or date for these fixes. It's very concerning that there is no control of data.
Thank you,
Vicky
