Does anyone have a form, or know the formula, to calculate a FRAX (Fracture Risk Assessment) score?
I created a form that has a button to open the FRAX web page and then have edit fields in the form for them to record the results once calculated. I had heard the formula was not available to the public.
Thank you. That's essentially what we did as I cannot find the published formula anywhere.
There is an alternate calcuation, called the QFracture which might be much more helpful, expecially since it does not require a DEXA score.
Current guildlines, from Choosing Wisely say not to do a DEXA in women under 65 unless they are at "high risk", so a FRAX that requires the DEXA is not helpful in decidine to do the test!
The score can be done easily online here: http://www.qfracture.org/index.php
Would be nice if someone with programming chops could figure out a way to implment the SKD or an API within Centricity to pull the data back into the EMR. Beyond my skills I'm afraid...
Cheers.
