Hello,
I believe this has been discussed before....please forgive me if recently.
My pediatric doctors give out physical forms (from letters) after they complete the office visit. However, if they place the update on hold rather than signing it the obs term from that update do not come into the letter. Is there any way to do this? Or in a handout?
Rebecca
That is most likely the OBSANY function. For it to pull in an observation from an unsigned update, you have to have that update open. Otherwise it will pull the last signed observation. The On Hold document's observations are not signed and since it is On Hold it is not the active update. This discussion is about the same thing with a possible work-around

Hi Rebecca,
What we do is keep the visit open and minimize it instead of putting it on hold. Then we go to Print, choose the letter we want and print it with the visit still open and active. That way the obs terms you chose in the visit are active in the letter as well.

Thank you both. Great ideas!
There is also the nightmarish _PencilOnlyObs object in the table that you can look for, but I don't suggest this. Or, you can buy a million new printers and stick one in every exam room.
