OK, so I built a form for logging all of our injections lot numbers, expiration dates, amounts, etc etc etc. Most of the injectables we use are multi-dose. For entering the information which can be long and time consuming, I wanted to use "New Observation (default previous)" however the functionality of this is only useful on that same patient. We will use a case of injectables on multiple patients.
So what I am trying to do is have the lot number stick universally and the provider only need to change it when the lot number actually changes. I know that Allscripts has this functionality. Anyone know how I could accomplish this in Centricity?
The VFE form above, does something similar to what you want, although this example is for immunizations. The dark-blue button "SELECT ALL" pre-fills many fields. Thus, sort-of remembering manufacturer, lot, expiration information.
Perhaps you could build similar for your injections?

the nice thing about the influenza shot is it most likely will be all the same lot number and expiration date, but the way this is built, I would have to update it every time we got a new shipment of meds in. thanks though!
You could have the lot number defined in a user library function and just update that function rather than the form.
