Is there a shortcut, or custom command that would be able to open a users quick text faster? Currently we have to open options then preferences then chart then quick text.
Any ideas?
Hey Janet,
There isn't a way to open quicktext preferences from quick text or from hotkeys.
I've thought of making a macro to manually do it (I use something called Autohotkey) but it wasn't worth automating for me.
That said: I think if it had a hotkey that'd be what I'd recommend. Quicktext is more for data processing than for interface manipulation.
If it was important, Autohotkey definitely can do that sort of thing but it would require about 10 lines of code to automate it.

You could potentially create an encounter form with an autolookup feature. Not something I have built, but it's possible.
I submitted an enhancement request for a shortcut to quick text YEARS ago. I thought this might be one of the 'quick wins' that GE was working on, but so far no luck.
This would greatly help, particularly new users just getting there own quick text set up.
We use Smart Commands which allow you to create functions that can be called from quick text and it is working great for our docs. We have a quick text that adds a diagnosis, adds a med, and orders testing that they really like.
