I am trying to build a protocol for patients that are current or past smokers, to have a AAA screening. We capture this in the SMOK STATUS obs term with the specified observations of "current every day smoker, current some day smoker, former smoker, never smoker, unknown if ever smoked, smoker current status unknown", these were specified as the required observations, I believe it was in the MU report documentation. I need to exclude "never smoker" but the protocol observation only has a "contains" option not a "does not contain". Has anyone found a work around for this?

You'll have to add a contains for each one except "never smoker." Which luckily, you only have 5 other options. CPS is very limited in protocols, and I hope they add exclusions soon.
I wanted to do a mammogram obs term that excluded patients with Bilateral Mastectomy diagnosis on their problem list. Which is just simply impossible. I had to find other ways to achieve this.
Thanks for suggestion. That makes since. Hopefully we'll get an overhaul on the protocols from GE.

Service Pack 4 for EMR does contain a protocols update clinical kit.
Are these changes also carrying over to CPS?
I'm not familiar with the CPS side so hopefully someone else may know the answer
